Useful Spanish phrases for traveling

No matter which country you travel to, I can guarantee you that every single one will appreciate you trying to speak in their language – even if you do make mistakes. So for all the ones traveling to Spain, here are some basic Spanish phrases.
(Remember that in Catalonia – which Barcelona is part of – Catalan is more common than Spanish, and even though everyone can speak Spanish, some might choose not to. Also, the writing on almost all signs is in Catalan too.)

Good morning – Buenos días
Good evening – Buenas noches
Hi – Hola (the H is not pronounced)
How are you? (informal) – ¿Cómo estás?
How are you (formal) – ¿Cómo está?
I am fine – Bien, gracias
Thank you – Gracias
You’re welcome – De nada
Nice to meet you – Mucho gusto
Do you speak English? (informal) – ¿Hablas inglés?
Do you speak English? (formal) – ¿Habla inglés?

I don’t want … – No quiero …
I would like … – Me gustaría … /Quería …
How much does it cost? – ¿Cuánto cuesta?
What time is it? – ¿Qué hora es?
I understand – Entiendo
